Ingram Micro Supports the Work of The Johnson Family’s Mission 31 Foundation
David Johnson, Ingram Micro, and Members of the Arizona Cardinals Support the Agents of Change fundraising event on Tuesday, October 23rd to help expand services for children undergoing treatment at Phoenix-area hospitals
PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Ingram Micro is a proud supporter of The Johnson Family’s Mission 31 Foundation, a non-profit led by Arizona Cardinal running back David Johnson and his wife Meghan. The couple started the Foundation in 2017 with the goal of making a positive difference for children who are undergoing treatment for serious and life-threatening illnesses and their families.
The foundation focuses on providing resources to seriously ill children and their families through the “David’s Locker” program, which provides patients and family members access to electronics during hospital visits. These technology tools offer a portal for communication, educational resources, and diversion during treatment and recovery. Stocked with Xbox One game consoles, Apple iPads, Nintendo game consoles, headphones, and video games, the portable lockers can be customized to meet the needs of individual patients and specific healthcare facilities.
Ingram Micro is committed to donating electronics for future David’s Lockers. The company also provides fundraising event sponsorship and leadership insights from Todd Zegers, vice president ITAD, Commerce & Lifecycle Services, who serves on the foundation’s executive board.
The foundation has already deployed two David’s Lockers - the first to Phoenix Children’s Hospital in April and the second to Cardon Children’s Medical Center in Mesa in September - and is planning to deploy an additional three lockers in the Phoenix area by the end of 2019.
“We were initially inspired to get involved because there’s a clear need for support services for children facing long hospital stays or undergoing difficult treatments,” said Zegers. “The Foundation’s goals are well aligned with Ingram Micro’s corporate values, particularly those around social responsibility, community philanthropy, and learning. We believe in giving back to the community, and our commitment to the Johnson Family’s Mission 31 Foundation offers an excellent way to make a positive impact.”
Ingram Micro is both a Gold and Silver sponsor for the Foundation’s Agents of Change fundraising event being held at on October 23rd at the Mountain Shadows resort located in Paradise Valley, AZ. David Johnson and many of his Arizona Cardinals teammates will mix and mingle with supporters and attendees while enjoying a high-spirited cocktail reception, fine cuisine, and exciting live and silent auctions.
“I encourage everybody in the Phoenix area to consider supporting this worthy cause, whether through a sponsorship, by donating goods or services to the silent auction, or by attending this or other events in the coming months,” adds Zegers.
Tickets and sponsorships to the Agents of Change event can be purchased at davidjohnson31.org.
