Ingram Micro Named One of World's Top 100 Cloud Services Providers
IT Supply Chain Leader Earns Distinction as Only Distributor on Nine Lives Media's Annual List of Top 100 Cloud Services Providers
SANTA ANA, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 08/08/13 -- Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), the world's largest wholesale technology distributor and a global leader in IT supply-chain, mobile device lifecycle services and logistics solutions, today announced it has been named one of the world's Top 100 Cloud Services Providers (CSPs) and is the only distributor named in the third-annual Talkin' Cloud 100 report published by Nine Lives Media. The honor marks the second consecutive year that Ingram Micro has earned a spot on the prestigious industry list, which identifies the world's top cloud service providers, aggregators, brokerages, integrators, VARs and MSPs focused on cloud computing.
Ranked at 22, Ingram Micro was recognized for its cloud services market leadership and ongoing year-over-year revenue growth. In 2012, Ingram Micro's success as the industry's premier cloud distributor and master aggregator of cloud services was highlighted by the rapid expansion of its North American Services Division's Cloud Marketplace, which now features more than 150 solutions from over 50 participating vendors. Additionally, Ingram Micro further differentiated its efforts by achieving record-breaking attendance and setting a new standard of event excellence at its fourth annual Cloud Summit, which took place in April 2013.
"The cloud marketplace is exploding with opportunity and Ingram Micro's strong position on the Talkin' Cloud list is indicative of the success we are having accelerating cloud services growth and recurring revenue for our reseller partners across the IT channel," says Renee Bergeron, vice president of managed services and cloud computing, Ingram Micro North America. "Inclusion in this elite group of CSPs is rewarding and we're extremely proud of the cloud leadership and partner enablement role Ingram Micro has earned within the IT channel."
According to the Talkin' Cloud report, which is available at http://www.talkincloud.com/tc100, the Top 100 CSPs generated more than $15.7 billion in combined cloud services revenue in 2012, up nearly 37 percent. The annual report is based on data from Talkin' Cloud's online survey, conducted January through May 2013. The Talkin' Cloud 100 report recognizes the top CSPs based on such metrics as annual cloud services revenue growth, both in actual dollars and in percentage growth rates.
"Nine Lives Media and Talkin' Cloud congratulate Ingram Micro," says Amy Katz, president of Nine Lives Media, a division of Penton. "The Talkin' Cloud 100 honor arrives amid a land grab in the cloud computing market. And the Talkin' Cloud 100 companies are leading that land grab."
