The IT Channel's Leading Partner Community Pays Tribute to 2012 VTN Hall of Fame Honorees Don Conaby and Anthony Gorjan of Canada
SANTA ANA, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/29/12 -- Celebrating the success and loyalty of its channel partners, Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM) announced Don Conaby, president of CONPUTE, and Anthony (Tony) Gorjan, president of Central Microsystems, have been inducted into the Ingram Micro VentureTech Network (VTN) Hall of Fame.
Recognized for their leadership and ongoing contributions and commitment to the VTN community, Conaby and Gorjan, both Canadians, were honored at this year's Fall VTN Invitational in Boston. The two long-time friends, colleagues and VTN members, were celebrated in a heart-felt tribute presented jointly by their sons and business successors Steve Conaby, vice president, CONPUTE and Jason Gorjan, vice president, Central Microsystems.
A founding Canadian member of VTN, Conaby served as the first Maple Leaf Chapter president, as well as the first co-president for VTN North America from 2006 - 2007. He was awarded the Spirit Award in 2004 and earned the Maple Leaf Chapter MVP award in 2011. Over the years, Conaby became known among the VTN community for his contagious enthusiasm, partner advocacy and willingness to speak his mind and share best practices and lessons learned.
Gorjan, also a charter member of VTN Canada, is highly regarded among the VTN membership for his passion for the community, pursuit of business excellence and willingness to share his insights on vendor relationships and market happenings. Similar to Conaby, he has also held several leadership positions within VTN including the first Chapter President for the Quebec chapter and a member of the Advisory Council. He also played an integral role in the development of the Canadian membership and country chapters.
"Don and Tony are two of Canada's most dynamic and driven IT business leaders," says Mark Snider, general manager, Ingram Micro Canada. "As VTN members and community leaders, Don and Tony have contributed greatly to VTN and bring a tremendous amount of market knowledge, proven business success and genuine enthusiasm to the membership, our vendor partners and Ingram Micro."
"We're thrilled to induct Don and Tony into the VTN Hall of Fame and honor their contributions not only as VTN members, but as leaders within the IT services industry," says John Fago, senior director, channel marketing, Ingram Micro North America. "VTN is the IT industry's first and foremost North America channel partner community because of the commitment and unique comradery our members share. It's rewarding to see the legacy of VTN being passed down from one generation to the next, and look forward to what the future holds for CONPUTE, Central Microsystems and our entire VTN community."
Conaby and Gorjan attribute much of their professional success and company growth to VTN and the knowledge, resources and relationships gained from the North America community. "Ingram Micro's VTN community has helped us to thrive as a company, grow with confidence and deliver a greater level of service and support to our customers that really separates us from our competitors," says Conaby.
"The relationships we've fostered within the VTN community have been a growth catalyst for our company, and have inspired us to work harder and smarter to reach our goals and exceed our customers' expectations," says Gorjan.
