Ingram Micro Named a Recipient of CIO Magazine's CIO 100 Award

World's Largest IT Distributor Honored for Initiative and Innovation on Development of Cloud Computing Website and Accelerated Adoption Within the IT channel

SANTA ANA, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 06/02/11 -- Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), the world's largest technology distributor, today announced that it has been named a recipient of IDG's CIO magazine's 2011 CIO 100 award. The 24th annual award program recognizes organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology.

CIO magazine recognized Ingram Micro for its development of the Ingram Micro Cloud website (www.ingrammicrocloud.com) which is the result of the company's innovation and initiative to take its cloud computing strategy online in order to accelerate the adoption of cloud computing in the IT channel.

"This award recognizes the dedication of our Global Information Services team and all of their hard work, innovation and technical expertise involved in the creation and implementation of the Ingram Micro Cloud website," said Mario Leone, executive vice president and chief information officer at Ingram Micro. "The site is the first of its kind in the industry and is the go-to business and education resource for approximately 1,600 solutions providers and managed service providers (MSPs) who have signed up to establish and grow their cloud computing services."

The Ingram Micro Cloud website was built 100 percent in the cloud and was implemented with cloud services specialist Model Metrics. Ingram Micro turned to Model Metrics because of its development approach, experience with more than 1,500 enterprise cloud deployments and track record of delivering solutions and services in cloud computing industry. The website is designed to alleviate the fear and uncertainty many channel partners have around cloud computing and focuses on educating, training and sales enablement.

"This year's CIO 100 awards draws well-deserved attention to companies that are not only innovating with IT but creating genuine business value as well," said Maryfran Johnson, editor in chief of CIO magazine and events. "These winning companies and their IT organizations are an inspiration to businesses everywhere."

About the CIO 100
The recipients of this year's CIO 100 award were selected through a three-step process. First, companies filled out an online application form detailing their innovative IT and business initiatives. Next, a team of judges reviewed the applications in depth, looking for unique practices and substantial results. Finally, CIO editors reviewed the judges' recommendations and voted on the final 100.
