Ingram Micro Strengthens Supply-Chain Capabilities With Appointment of Robert Gifford as Executive VP, Global Logistics

SANTA ANA, Calif., June 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ingram Micro (NYSE: IM), the world's largest technology distributor, today announced the appointment of Robert Gifford as the company's executive vice president, global logistics, effective June 7, 2010.

In this newly created role, Gifford will have comprehensive responsibility for all elements of the company's distribution centers and supply-chain operations throughout the world, including the Ingram Micro Logistics fee-for-service business unit.  Reporting to Alain Monie, president and chief operating officer, Ingram Micro Inc., Gifford will become a member of the worldwide executive team and officer of the corporation.

Gifford  joins Ingram Micro after six years at Ecolab, Inc., a leading manufacturer and distributor serving the hospitality, institutional and industrial markets, where he optimized 37 manufacturing plants and 84 distribution sites as senior vice president, global supply chain.  Previously, he was vice president of worldwide logistics for the Hewlett-Packard Company, where he was responsible for a multi-billion dollar logistics operation encompassing everything from vendor selection and transportation to contracts and compliance.
