Eduardo Araujo Named President of Ingram Micro Latin America

SANTA ANA, Calif., Jan. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), the world's largest technology distributor, today announced that Eduardo Araujo, a 28-year veteran of the information technology industry, has been named executive vice president and president, Ingram Micro Latin America, effective Jan. 4, 2010.  He will report to Alain Monie, president and chief operating officer, Ingram Micro Inc.

A native of Brazil, Araujo's professional experience includes executive leadership positions at several IT corporations, including HP, Compaq, PeopleSoft and ATT/NCR.

For the past three years, Araujo served as vice president and general manager, Latin America and the Caribbean for Electronic Data Systems Corporation (EDS), a multi-billion dollar business now owned by Hewlett-Packard. Araujo was responsible for the growth of the division's three services business lines: Infrastructure Technology Outsourcing, Business Process Outsourcing and Applications. After the company's acquisition by HP earlier this year, he was one of the key leaders of the successful integration of the division's operations and more than 14,000 employees.

"Eduardo is a strong leader with integrity and a diverse business background," said Monie. "He is taking the reins of a well-run, profitable organization at the forefront of the Latin America region. I'm confident Eduardo's track record of excellent results and leadership, with expertise in the Latin American market, will serve him well as he works to drive even more profitable growth in the region's core and adjacent businesses."

Araujo will replace David Schoenberger, interim president of Ingram Micro Latin America, who is resuming his previous role as the region's chief financial officer.

"We appreciate David's stewardship of the region over the past six months and thank him for a job well done," said Monie. "I look forward to his continued dedication and leadership as he works closely with Eduardo during the transition period and beyond."
