Ingram Micro U.S. Now Offering Microsoft's Service Provider License Agreement

Industry leaders team to enable North America IT channel partners with comprehensive subscription-based, Microsoft hosted software licensing program

SANTA ANA, Calif., Dec. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Ingram Micro Inc., (NYSE: IM) today announced the immediate availability of Microsoft's Service Provider Licensing Agreement (SPLA), a comprehensive, subscription-based licensing program designed specifically for channel partners who are selling into small and medium businesses (SMBs), as well as vertical markets.

Available to Ingram Micro partners in the U.S. and Canada, Microsoft's usage-based, Software + Service (S+S) offering enables channel partners (including solution providers, managed service providers (MSPs), ISPs, ASPs, VARs, system integrators, independent software vendors and others) to license a wide range of Microsoft products and platforms through Ingram Micro on a monthly basis through a dedicated or shared hosting environment. The Microsoft SPLA also provides channel partners with increased services flexibility and profit potential, allowing them to cost-effectively meet the needs of SMBs while establishing recurring monthly revenue streams.

"Software-as-a-Service is growing in popularity among today's IT channel and will continue to win big among SMBs due to the sheer efficiencies, cost-savings and flexibility of utility-based computing," says Jodi Honore, vice president, vendor management, Ingram Micro U.S. "With Microsoft's SPLA licensing program we've simplified the sale and are truly enabling our channel partners to grow their Microsoft business and increase their profit potential without having to outlay any unnecessary infrastructure costs or borrow against their working capital. Our Microsoft SPLA program has done quite well in Canada, and we are pleased to bring it to our partners in the U.S."

"Microsoft is proud to work with Ingram Micro to help its solution providers and MSPs reap the benefits of our SPLA licensing program," says Ben Malek, senior director of hosting, Microsoft Americas. "We designed this S+S program to help channel partners increase their profitability and gain a competitive services advantage. Together with Ingram Micro we are making it that much easier for channel partners to successfully sell hosted Microsoft solutions that are targeted to both the technical and business needs of SMBs."
