Ingram Micro's Product Protection Plan Builds New Revenue Streams and Extends Services Capabilities for Solution Providers

New comprehensive services plans help partners deliver affordable on-site customer support

LAS VEGAS, Comptia Breakaway, July 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ingram Micro Inc.'s (NYSE: IM) Services Division today announced the Ingram Micro Product Protection Plan, a flexible and affordable suite of easy-to-sell hardware services plans that enable solution providers to offer multi-vendor, on-site customer care and professional repair services for laptops, desktops, servers and peripherals, without manufacturer restrictions.

Available to Ingram Micro solution providers in the U.S., these new service plans are offered in conjunction with Warranty Corporation of America (WaCA), a leading supplier of IT service plans in the U.S. They include three-year, next-business-day service options and on-site customer care, as well as exclusive offerings for white-box and college campus resellers.

"Solution provider partners are constantly looking for new ways to drive incremental service revenue streams while strengthening the value and services they provide to their clients," says Jason Beal, director of sales, Ingram Micro Services. "With the new Ingram Micro Product Protection Plan, we're giving partners exactly what they've been asking for -- an all-inclusive, flexible multi-vendor product services plan that provides optimal customer service at an affordable yet profitable price tag."

As part of the Product Protection Plan, Ingram Micro solution providers can either become WaCA-authorized service providers and service customers directly, or they can use WaCA's nationwide network of authorized service providers. To further equip its existing service providers with the necessary technology expertise and onsite assistance, Ingram Micro will also tap into the industry-renowned Ingram Micro Services Network (IMSN).

New Protection Plan Offers Targeted Services for System Integrators and College Campus Resellers

In addition to name-brand hardware products, Ingram Micro's new on-site services plans are available to system builders and integrators for white-box desktop and server solutions. Participating partners have the choice of three white-box services plans, including two distinct 36-month, on-site plans with choice of next-business-day or same-day/four-hour service, as well a 12-month, on-site, next-business-day protection plan that offers coverage beginning upon expiration of the manufacturer warranty.

The Ingram Micro Product Protection Plan also extends to U.S. education partners, with a specific services contract for college campus resellers that offers either a three-year or four-year break-fix and Accidental Damage from Handling (ADH) coverage for any laptop sold within university bookstores.

"Ingram Micro's new Product Protection Plan removes the headaches associated with managing individual product services plans and makes it much easier and more cost-effective to provide exceptional service to our clients across the board," says John Riddle, President of Southern California-based Information Networking Company and active member of Ingram Micro's VentureTech Network and IMSN partner communities. "By introducing these services plans at the point of sale, we're demonstrating to our customers that we're serious about service and ensuring their satisfaction."
